Guardians NFT comics have been issued both as numbered singles and as anthology packs that re-letter several shorts under one contents page. Collectors in Bangkok often mix the two without noticing the duplicate: the same Rocket heist short appears as issue #2 of a drop and as the third piece in the later cosmic anthology.
If you read for story, the anthology is kinder. The contents page tells you the order. The lettering is sometimes revised. Jokes that pointed at a weekly drop schedule get sanded down. If you collect for the event of the drop itself — the cover that existed only that Thursday — the single is the artefact you wanted.
We ask new clients which of those they actually want before we reserve anything. A person who says “I want the Groot funeral issue” may mean the single with the funeral cover, or the anthology that places that story after the prologue they never minted. Those are two shopping lists.
Closed anthologies also fail in a specific way: a missing short that was licensed only for the original pack. We mark those gaps as closed. Filling them with a fan scan is not assembly; it is a different hobby.
